Since I teach kindergarten, most of my instructional time is devoted to introducing and reviewing beginning reading skills. A main focus of my instruction is letter and sound identification and therefore, I am always seeking new fun and exciting ways to teach these concepts. I would enjoy the opportunity to teach using an educational website or computer program that I could connect to a big screen in my classroom. I know my students would really enjoy it, and anything on a screen will catch all of their attention! I am also interested in creating a blog or website to as another reference for parents to keep up to date with our current "letter of the week" and new sight words that are introduced each week... or maybe even an electronic version of my weekly newsletter parents can access from home. I feel through the use of technology there are a great deal of new things I can do to enhance my teaching strategies and make learning more enjoyable, as well as meaningful for my students.
